We’re a queer Canadian press producing speculative romance, erotica, horrorotica, and monsterfucking fiction. The press is named for a forest spirit in Norse culture often seen as a seductress, a devourer of those who wade unwary into sylvan paths. Sometimes a boon to travellers, sometimes a nightmare.
Currently a self-publishing operation run by Kaya Skovdatter (She/They), a Danish-Canadian trans woman, Huldra House puts out 24 short works a year, with the aim of opening up to publishing other queer authors once financially feasible — to have it be one more brick in the wall of queer presses for transphobes and bigots to smash their skulls open against as they try to erase our collective legacy.
